A teaching devoted to exploring the shoulderblades, dorsal spine and sternum plate in a variety of different backbending poses. Using yoga blocks at certain key points to really help our bodies and minds grasp the particular sensations and refinements we are working with. These alignments are the basis of health backbends and posture in general. Starting with a dynamic warm up to make the body and mind ready, then immersing ourselves in the ‘work’ with supine Backbends which progress in intensity and detail until we bring it all together in Urdhva Dhanurasana. The practice then gently cools us down through forward bends, hip releasers and a final relaxation with legs up against the wall for full inversion benefits.
