Legs, Groins & Hips
Legs, Groins & Hips
Rich detailed alignments. Ingenious sequencing. Surprising illuminating portals to access and explore the head of the femur bone and the hips.
An opening and stretching of the entire body, including a light but effective sequence of abdominal exercises to strengthen your core. From the tips of your toes to the tips of your fingers, get ready to feel longer and broader in every way possible whilst oxygenating the blood and refreshing the system. This teaching starts with a powerful supine heart opener to place that enriching space inside the chest and ease the body into a receptive open and warm state, making it ready to work more deeply. The class then moves into seated hip and lower back releasers interspersed with active Downward Dogs and Lunging groin work for full body awakening. Special attention is given to the shoulders, the inner arms and other unusual places that hold much hidden tension. After this comes the core sequence for abdominal strength and lower back integrity, followed by a series of abdominal releasers, organ cleansers, and supine spinal twists. Gently winding down with a further opening of hips, lower back, legs and groins culminating in a happy burst of heart opening half backbends for cellular vitality to the lungs and heart (and helping the often rounded upper back to be more malleable and youthful), followed by a divinely peaceful guided Savasana.
